An Moonen is antiek textiel deskundige, woonachtig in Westervoort.

An Moonen is an Independent Antique Textile Historian residing in Westervoort, The Netherlands. She has established this website to share her specific knowledge amongst textile enthusiasts worldwide.

After the publication of the book A HISTORY OF DUTCH QUILTS in 2008, An Moonen delivered more than 30 lectures on this subject in The Netherlands and abroad.

The launch of the English translation of the book took place in Houston, Texas in November 2010, where An gave lectures, as well during the big annual event of the QUILT INC. organized by Karey Bresenhan and Nancy O’Bryant. These two ladies have supported An from 1991 until today and An is very grateful for their backing.

Following a couple of years health related challenges, An began to give special lectures at her home in Westervoort. She receives groups up to 15 people and delivers an intimate lecture where she shows her treasures; a collection of about 30 antique Dutch quilts from 1650-1950.

She is planning to continue these local lectures for the near future in order to reduce potential damage to the fragile quilts caused by traveling around the lecture circuit. The elderly quilts are much more comfortable in their own living space!
